Season 10 of American Idol premiered last night with new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joining veterans Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson. The talent competition returned to good reviews, with The New York Times asserting that there's "Life after Simon for Idol," and Entertainment Weekly noticing that it was a "friendlier, more upbeat" season premiere.
