Track of the Day: 'U Don't Like Me'

By Llewellyn Hinkes-Jones

Past TracksMusic and entertainment is so often a personal affair that it can be hard to designate anything as the "best". It's what speaks to you at that moment in time, in that period of your life. Who's to say what is good relative to what anyone else might consider good. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, et cetera.

That said, I can, with great confidence, declare Li'l Jon and Diplo's video for "U Don't Like Me" to be the finest, nay, the greatest music video that 2010 has to offer. Besides a song that, by itself, is visceral and exasperating fury, the video is directed by none other than NMA--the Taiwanese news organization who deserve their own special award for enlightening us about global events via computer animation.

Within this fine production, there's a dance-off and an underwater knife fight, and, at some point, Li'L Jon throws a chicken at the camera. What it says about taste and class is hard to discern in the midst of all of the expletives, but whatever your opinion, one must agree that the outcome is certainly ... important.
