Spotlight on Solomon Burke

King Solomon died yesterday. I guess because of Peter Guralnick's book, I group him with James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin. Only the Queen remains. I didn't get into Burke's catalouge in the same way I did the others, but "Cry To Me" is a great one. I'm sure you guys have many others.

I looked around for some live versions I like. But I'm partial to the low, loping grind. I like good processional. I have never been much for the race.
