'Mad Men': Roger Sterling's Fictional Memoir Will Actually Be Published

One of the more bittersweet moments from the last season of Mad Men came after  Roger Sterling finds out that his biggest client, Lucky Strike, is dumping his firm. Waiting for him when he arrives home is the first batch of bound copies of his memoir, which he had so comically been working on all season. He struggles to feign enthusiasm for the occasion, to appease his excited wife, but is too consumed by the dooming news he had just received.

Well this would have cheered him up: Sterling's Gold: Wit and Wisdom of an Ad Man, the character's fictional memoir, is set to be published by Grove/Atlantic in November. MediaBistro has an excerpt:

After devoting most of my life to the nefarious trade known as advertising, I thought it was time to share some of the pearls that I've been fortunate enough to accumulate. Now keep in mind that oysters don't open easy and every one of those gaudy baubles started off as a grain of sand.
