Party People! I'm starting my day a bit late today. Last night was the party to celebrate the expansion of the studio. It was a packed house, some pics of the event: here
I'm sad to say this will be the last regular weekly mix I can do for a while. The truth is that it takes a lot of work, between song selection, doing the mix and little studio touch-ups that I like to do to make the whole thing level consistent (though no edits); especially when dealing with songs from different eras.
This has been a fun experience and I've appreciated all your comments and critiques, even if I haven't been able to respond to every single one. Also, big-ups to my man Ta-Nehisi for the lookout. Your drive is contagious and inspiring. I'm proud to be in your orbit.
Today's mix is totally dedicated to the type of music that Sam and I love to hear right before going out. That '80s-ish R&B really gets us in the mood to go out and party. And because this is the last one for a while I made it extra long. My one regret is that I didn't play "Cool It Now" long enough to hear the second rap verse, because I know everyone loves saying "Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, and Mike". My apologies.
Before I take off I'll show some quick pics of my new workspace, like the proud papa I am. I love the space and all my comrades in the studio complex. I look forward to many fun projects being done there.
