Lady Gaga's latest epic—a nine-minute music video for "Alejandro"—hit the web yesterday, but this time the buzz surrounding it has nothing to do with the current Queen of Pop's latest antics. Rather, a tweet from fellow female singer Katy Perry in response to the video has sent the interwebs into overdrive:

Apparently everyone is up in arms about this—Perez Hilton is "surprised" by Perry's comment and E! Online's Gina Serpe wonders, "Did Katy Perry really just diss Lady Gaga?"—particularly because the singers's own actions don't seem to be any less "cheap" than Gaga's.

But the real reason behind Perry's criticism seems beyond obvious: Gaga's Madonna-inspired cone-bra-doubling-as-a-gun-holster seems all too similar to the frosting-shooting cupcake-bra Perry sports in her new video for "California Gurls," to debut later this month. Did Gaga steal Miss Katy's thunder?

Regardless, it doesn't matter—neither singer can claim to be the first to use her bra as a rifle. When it comes down to it, both ladies are ripping off the FemBots in Austin Powers.

UPDATE: As commenter cabmac points out, Austin Powers actually isn't pop culture's first example of a gun bra. The 1979 flm Mr. Mike''s Mondo Video, the brainchild of SNL writer/actor Michael O'Donoghue, featured women in laser-spewing brassieres.
