In Praise Of Cougartown

By Ta-Nehisi Coates

I was a little hard on the show when I first came on, but I think it's gotten funnier as it goes along. And it's a particular kind of funny. It's not brainy, Arrested Development funny. It's escapist funny. Like, "I just need to not think for a moment" funny. I don't mean that as a dis, as I think escapist funny is an art onto itself. I just wish they didn't have to call the show "Cougartown." The title doesn't even really fit the show.
