The final trailer of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released during the fourth game of the World Series last night, reminding us that in the midst of all the prestigious fare flooding the movie theaters lately, next month we'll have to make room for a big blockbuster about teenagers in peril.
This trailer puts front and center the conflict between our heroine, Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen, and Donald Sutherland's evil President Snow, who asks in voice over: "Would you like to be in a real war?" What follows includes arrows, fire, and a look at the threats inside the tropical arena where former Hunger Games champions are fighting to death as part of the Quarter Quell. It's still hard to tell what impact new director Francis Lawrence will have on the franchise, though he has promised no shaky cam, good CGI, and more love story.
Whatever changes have been made to the series, it looks like this installment will make as big a splash as the first one. Early this month, fans clamored to purchase advance tickets for the film, and very early estimations have the movie taking in close to $1 billion.
