Track of the Day: 'Stonehaven'

Past Tracks

Darren Hayman was the principal voice and main songwriter behind one of the last truly great bands championed by the late John Peel. That band was Hefner. Alas, after an unexpected deviation into analog synths and then day jobs, this musical genius is back with a concept album about, (Brace yourselves!), outdoor swimming pools across the UK, known as Lidos. In fact, Lido is the name of Hayman's current album. It's slightly unexpected, because the whole thing is analog, and more importantly, instrumental. It's also thoroughly cheerful. And while the days are still long enough to leave the office before sunset, this tune is utterly perfect.
