Track of the Day: 'Promises'

Past Tracks

The Sydney duo who record as The Presets have softened a few of the (delightful) rough edges on their previous album and launched a smoother mix of tunes on their new release, Pacifica. They now fall closer to the synthpop end of the spectrum. This particular track seems to be about the on-going global economic malaise. Or perhaps some perpetually disappointing domestic set-up. But I single this song out for praise because it really is a pure pop tune that, I hope, will carry them a long way up the charts.
