The Sea and Cake have an excellent new album out, and this may be my favorite track on it. The tune is called "On and On," and honestly, I dare not hazard a guess about the content of the lyrics. But if you know vocalist Sam Prekop at all, you know his role in the band is to add tone and atmosphere to the instrumental specialists' post-rock stylings. Here he slots in beautifully, with every other member of the band offering all the fuzzy guitar and felt-tip bass lines that you could need. Plus, it swings.
