Track of the Day: 'DJ'

Past Tracks For the first time in seven years I can happily report there is a new Saint Etienne album for sale, entitled Words and Music By Saint Etienne. The wait has been worth it. This particular cut may be the best single track they've recorded this century. It's a disco fairy tale, of sorts. Girl experiences the ecstatic joy of a great night at the club, meets a handsome chap, and then realizes the next day that he was just a figment of her imagination, or something along those lines. But the music, the beats, the vocals, the production, and the overall ebb-and-flow of this track are just superb. Welcome back, Saint Etienne.
