Morning Coffee

We talked a bit yesterday about singers using voice and gender in order to make statements about their sexuality. Easily my favorite instance involves Meshell Ndegeocello revamping Bill Withers "Who Is He And What Is He To You?" without changing a word. It's a beautifully angry song.

The Bill Withers' original is after the jump. I still prefer that one. It's a little subtler and [ simmers with a quiet menace.
