Track of the Day: 'Never Thought I'd See the Day'

Past TracksCardiff's The School are the very best type of indie pop, in my book. They meld the cream of '60s girl group melodies (and lyrical preoccupations) with a scrappy, modern DIY sound. Not ramshackle in the least, though. But not compressed to the hilt, and drowned in reverb either. Just right. This song is the title track off the band's new single, and right away it presents that Farfisa Organ sound you probably haven't heard since Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio." As for the lyrics, well, sometimes crushes actually lead somewhere. Take this song as proof.
