Track of the Day: 'Monumental Holiday'

Past TracksLos Angeles' Dead Sara has finally released its debut album, and it has all the snarl and riffage that their "Weatherman" single promised. This particular track blazes by in a bit more than 2:30, and in that brief window singer Emily Armstrong pushes her to voice to the very edge of ragged destruction. Siouxsie Medley's guitar pounds out a steady stream of chunky, aggressive notes, and the rhythm section keeps things tight and nervy. The track lets up a bit, toward the end, but only so it can dial up the afterburners one more time before it wraps. Play this one loud.
