There are plenty of reasons to watch postseason baseball. There's the surprise of seeing a team that almost didn't make the playoffs win the World Series, as the Cardinals did on Friday night, claiming the championship against the Texas Rangers, 6 to 2, after only barely securing the wild card berth a month earlier. There's the thrill of watching a team come back five different times in one game, as the Cardinals did during Thursday night's Game Six.

But an under-appreciated joy of the playoffs and World Series is seeing grown men reduced to childlike exhilaration at winning a crucial game. Here, a collection of photos that capture these moments of unselfconscious celebration:
