"Never change, Boardwalk Empire! Never change," while Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd is ho-hum. "For me, Boardwalk had a strong opening batch of episodes, then got slower and slower as the show — like the latter seasons of the Sopranos — became more of a character study than a propulsive drama."
