Piggy-backing on yesterday's thread about The Black Keys, I went and watched the webisodes for the Blackroc project. My favorite by far was this one with Billy Danze of Mash Out Posse fame. I've long been at a lost to explain my love for MOP, and for Danze particularly. These guys are straight East Coast but there's nothing particularly lyrical about them, it's more primal. "I like to welcome motherfuckers to the back of the mind of Bill," is not a particularly poetic line. And yet when growled by Danze it carries something delighfully evil and unnamable.
