Born in 1975, the product of two beautiful parents. Raised in West Baltimore—not quite The Wire, but sometimes ill all the same. Studied at the Mecca for some years in the mid-’90s. Emerged with a purpose, if not a degree. Slowly migrated up the East Coast with a baby and my beloved, until I reached the shores of Harlem. Wrote some stuff along the way.

I'm pretty far back on Louie, Louie. Anyway, here's a funny clip. Frankly, the part at the end could have been a little more nuanced, but I love this line.—You don't get what you want, not all the time. It's taken me years, in all things, to understand that. This is a one-shot deal. Sometimes they play your song—but you don't get to dance. It may not even be your song.
