Gwyneth Paltrow to Appear on 'Glee'

Add Gwyneth Paltrow to the list of Hollywood stars making guest appearances on Glee—Paltrow will join fellow Oscar-winner Javier Bardem, Full House's John Stamos, and Britney Spears on the roster of guest stars for this season, which began this week:

[Glee creator Ryan] Murphy told the BBC he had written a part specifically for the Shakespeare In Love and Iron Man star. "Gwyneth is a great singer. She's done it a little bit but I really want to show it off and show everyone how great she is," he said. Paltrow will star in two episodes of the second series as a substitute teacher for Glee coach Mr Schuester.

Murphy's not just flattering Paltrow when he compliments her singing voice. She earned praise for her vocals in the 2000 film Duets, where she performed the song "Cruisin'":


And she goes country for a role in her next film, Country Strong.
