Born in 1975, the product of two beautiful parents. Raised in West Baltimore—not quite The Wire, but sometimes ill all the same. Studied at the Mecca for some years in the mid-’90s. Emerged with a purpose, if not a degree. Slowly migrated up the East Coast with a baby and my beloved, until I reached the shores of Harlem. Wrote some stuff along the way.

I think if critics are debating whether your work is a masterpiece or merely just good, you've won. For what it's worth, I liked it a lot. Incredibly ambitious, if problematic. Still there are so many worse things happening in the world of art and entertainment. The special effects were awesome but not pornographic. It was exactly what I needed to see before my six-week jaunt into the wilderness.

I don't want to say much more than that. But if you haven't seen the film, and plan to see it, don't read this thread. Fuck a spoiler alert. From here on out, you are responsible for your own eyes.
