'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' Trailer Released

>

The first trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim comic book series was released today, and the Internet is excited. The movie, which comes out in August, stars Juno favorite Michael Cera as a "charming and jobless" guitarist who falls in love with a pink haired dream girl, only to discover he must fight off her seven evil ex-boyfriends.

The trailer's enthusiastic use of "whud" and "smack" text bubbles suggests the film will stick close to its comic book roots—and its opening question, "Have you ever met someone you loved so much it hurts?" indicates the movie's desire to appeal to everyday romantics as well as graphic novel-lovers. It seems to be working so far—blog reactions range from cautiously optimistic to head-over-heels in love.
