Listening To Whitman

The great gay American made a wax recording back in 1890. Here's what he is reciting

"America

Centre of equal daughters, equal sons,
All, all alike endear'd, grown, ungrown, young or old,
Strong, ample, fair, enduring, capable, rich,
Perennial with the Earth, with Freedom, Law and Love..."

After California's court ruling, I cannot help but think of Whitman and, of course, Lincoln:
