J Goodbody offers what could be a possible explanation to the growing number of Birthers:

According to three separate polls released on Thursday, a majority of men are pretty sure that the woman calling them to ask their opinion about politics and stuff was seriously hitting on them. While each survey covered a wide variety subjects, the similarities were surprising in that nearly two-thirds of men felt a connection developing with their pollster and could totally see them getting together.
