Sargent's two cents:

Now that Daley has been picked, there will be a fair amount of commentary to the effect that Obama has wisely received this [midterm election] message [that his agenda has been too left-wing] and is in the midst of a course correction. But here's the thing: Daley is wrong. Obama didn't govern from the "left." And as it happens, he did govern from the "center left."

And that obvious truth - the most important one of Obama's first two years - was beyond Daley's comprehension. But look: he's chief-of-staff. That's about management more than policy. Let's judge him on that when we have the data.
