Bradford Plumer looks at species extinction:

...it's worth asking if there's any conservation strategy to stop what would essentially be the sixth mass extinction in world historyapart from trying to curb emissions and prevent large temperature increases. It doesn't appear so.

For humans to precipitate a sixth mass extinction, knowing it in advance, and refusing to do anything about it, is indeed a sin against creation.
