Contra Jonah II

A reader writes:

If anything it is the amateur pundit--in Jonah's formulation--who most needs the protection of anonymity.  If you're a professional writer, paid to express opinions, then your livelihood probably won't be jeopardized by affixing your name to a blog.  But an "amateur pundit" blogs as a hobby, not an occupation.  And he/she is thus more likely to face some official sanction from an employer or some other institution (church, boy scouts, whatever) for airing the "wrong" views on controversial matters.

I wonder what Jonah would say about outing a gay blogger. Even an amateur one.
