Has The Mob Arrived Yet?

A reader prods Rod Dreher:

I know that bloggers live in the present to a much greater degree than the rest of us.  However, I think it's worth revisiting the dustup between you and Rod Dreher over the eightmaps.com "controversy" from three weeks ago.  As you no doubt recall, Rod seemed terrified that the gay hordes were going to start descending on Prop. 8 supporters, to the extent that he felt compelled to tell the world that he had a gun and wasn't afraid to use it.

Well, three weeks have passed since then and a cursory review of Google reveals that absolutely nothing whatsoever has come to pass.  Not only has there been no violence, there haven't even been demonstrations. Considering the hysteria on the anti-marriage side in the immediate aftermath of Prop. 8, I think we can be sure that any abuse of eightmaps.com would have been thoroughly documented.  But there hasn't been a peep.
