Freddie DeBoer attacks Mickey Kaus:

A man who lives through the Bush years and continues to act and talk like the greatest threats to American abundance and happiness are unions and welfare mothers is a liar or an utter fool.

Larison defends Mickey. One commenter captures some of the nuances. I think Mickey's guerrilla warfare on card check, welfare reform and immigration is a healthy phenomenon. But it has been touched by a visceral hatred of Hollywood liberals that living in Venice will tend to create. And some evolution from 1994 would suggest a mind capable of reimagining a world changed by the last decade.
