A reader writes:

Despite McCain's total destruction of his own integrity, one thing he had remained consistent on throughout his campaign was his refusal to discuss his sons serving in the military. He very clearly did not want to politicize them (as Sarah Palin has with her son since the moment she was added to the ticket), and I held a great deal of respect for that.

Until now, apparently.
