If McCain Were A Democrat

He'd be tagged as an "elitist" by now. But the real problem with his gas price gaffe is how easy it would have been for him to have avoided it. I mean, I don't drive at all, but I sure know that gas is now over $4 a gallon. Doesn't McCain?

Update: I misread the quote. It's the following:

WICKSOL: When was the last time you pumped your own gas and how much did it cost?

MCCAIN: Oh, I don’t remember. Now there’s Secret Service protection. But I’ve done it for many, many years. I don’t recall and frankly, I don’t see how it matters.

He was being asked how much it used to cost. So his answer isn't so dumb - just the prickly attitude to the populist question.
