Wrong again. A reader writes:

As bad as the guy's logic is, his knowledge of the history of the banana is equally bad. The ur-banana became the banana we see today in the same way that the ur-beagle became the beagle we see today: human beings and not God or anything else selectively cultivated(bred) it until it came to have its current form.
