The Thernstroms ponder the impact of a post-racial politics. Even if you dislike his redistributionism (as I do) and oppose his more diplomatic foreign policy (I don't after the last seven years), one obvious reason conservatives are intrigued by Obama is what he is doing to the old paradigm of racial politics. On that score, I can't see a downside.
