Meanwhile, the British teacher who allowed her pupils to name a class teddy bear Muhammed has just been found guilty of "insulting the prophet." But no lashes: just two weeks in jail and deportation. (Not far off what some HIV-positive tourists can legitimately fear if they visit the US.) But don't criticize Islam or you'll be tarred as "phobic." So if we don't blame Sudanese Muslims, who else is responsible? And at what point do the obscene "exceptions" of Islamic fanatics become legitimately seen as the rule?
