Quote for the Day

"If somebody's doing a profile on you, and you can't be forthcoming about who you are, then you shouldn't agree to the profile. Are you going to straighten up the house so that people think that you're one way? I mean, that's just my opinion," - openly gay Fox News Channel executive David Brown, who was the lead producer for the launch of the O'Reilly Factor.

His quote is part of a fascinating story about openly gay journalists, producers, executives and spokesmen in the broadcast news industry. Mad props, btw, to ABC News in particular. It saddens me that not everyone is honest about their sexual orientation in the news industry. It doesn't seem to be a question of political ideology. It's ultimately about personal integrity. And self-respect.
