The Tehran theocracy has jailed Haleh Esfandiari, director of the Middle East Program at the Smithsonian Institution's Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Her crime? Scholarship and visiting her frail 93-year-old mother. She was subjected to house arrest, intimidation, long hours of questioning, and now has been banished to the notorious Evin Prison. Pray for her; and that she will be released and allowed to return home.
