Two Iraq Time-Lines

A minimum of five more months in Washington to make a decision; a minimum of five more years in Iraq to make a real difference. That's the conflict helpfully laid out in the WaPo today. I don't think any serious, consensual conclusions can be made about the surge until September. But then, we'll face the real choice: to dig in for another decade or get out as responsibly as we can.
