Now Here's An Ombudsman

I should have expected it - since the Stranger is edited by the inimitable Dan Savage. But that magazine's ombudsman is a hoot and pulls no punches. Here's an idea: why doesn't the Washington Post hire Jack Shafer as its ombudsman? I'd read that column religiously.
