For the third year, The Atlantic and the Aspen Institute will host the
Aspen Ideas Festival in the idyllic setting of Aspen, Colorado July 2-8, 2007.
The Ideas Festival gathers scientists, politicians, entrepreneurs, academics, business leaders, religious figures, and others for conversation and debate over the course of a single week. Participants contribute provocative ideas from their fields, and discuss the world, both as it is and as it might become.
This year’s conversations will cover a myriad of thought provoking subjects such as global economic integration, contemporary politics and Shakespeare, the future of the American workforce, media and the loss of self-esteem, the politics of science, alternative models of education, China and the environment, eradicating poverty in the city, hybrid cars and hydrogen, American competitiveness, the future of the European Union, expanding U.S. healthcare access, early childhood development, species depletion and many others. |
