Crist Loses Endorsements..."He Knows Why"

Republican Reps. Mario and Lincoln Diaz-Balart of Florida have withdrawn their endorsements of Gov. Charlie Crist in the state's Senate race, but all Lincoln offered was a cryptic statement on the matter. His office is referring press inquiries about the withdrawn endorsement to a statement he gave to The Miami Herald's Naked Politics blog: that Crist "left us no alternative and he knows why."

"We take our endorsements seriously, but the governor knows why we withdrew and he left us with no alternative," Lincoln Diaz-Balart told the Herald.
UPDATE: Mario Diaz-Balart isn't saying anything about the revoked endorsement either. The Associated Press reports:

Mario Diaz-Balart declined to say why they were rescinding their endorsement.

He would say only that they notified Crist weeks ago and that he "left them no choice."Mario Diaz-Balart said it's the first endorsement they've rescinded.

The congressman said he had no plans to endorse another candidate.
