Democrats, Republicans and Bernanke

Over the past year, Mr. Bernanke has become more assertive in responding to the financial crisis, and Democrats presumably like such assertiveness more than Republicans do. But the Fed was already acting aggressively a year ago. So most of the switch in attitudes seems to reflect partisanship.
