Earlier this week, the author of The Atlantic's July/August cover story, "Why Women Still Can't Have It All," appeared onstage with Katie Couric at the Aspen Ideas Festival to answer the most pressing questions her article has raised. Among them: Will this article discourage women from being ambitious? Is there really a difference between maternal and paternal instincts? And did Slaughter's teenage son give her permission to write about his personal life?
