New GM to Be 'Fully Launched' This Month

A new company containing General Motors Corp.'s top assets is expected to be "fully launched" by month's end under a new board and majority ownership of the U.S. and Canadian governments, President Barack Obama's top auto adviser said Monday.

Steve Rattner, a senior member of President Obama's auto-industry task force, said the administration is confident that a federal judge's approval late Sunday of GM's asset sale will stand against appeals.
