Provocative thinkers and leaders, such as Grover Norquist, Peter Orszag, and Randi Weingarten, tackled the most pressing issues facing America at home and abroad during the inaugural New York Ideas -- a day-and-a-half long forum hosted by The Atlantic, the Aspen Institute, and the New-York Historical Society - on April 16 and 17. The Atlantic's leading editorial voices; Walter Isaacson; and Anna Deavere Smith, professor and actress best known for her role in Showtime's Nurse Jackie, asked thought-provoking questions that stirred debates and inspired the panelists and audience.
